No power.

My Traveller has packed in before I could get it to the garage. It was driving at v slow speed until the other day when it picked up a bit. Seemed to vibrate like mad when it went into 4th. Had a new clutch in Feb, a bit of scraping after it was adjusted.
Yesterday traveller lost power, then when I switched off, then on engine, would drive a few more feet. Won't go now.
Anyone any ideas of a temporary, dead easy (for a novice) fix to get it to garage? (but not with aa etc as financially challenged at the moment, hence the delay with garage repair)
I put plugging liquid in radiator to help head gaskett, which worked for a while.

That wont really healp a blowing head gasket, maybe it has gone completly does it run at all.

Not when I left it. It started up and I managed to drive it a few feet before it conked out again. I repeated this procedure about eight times to get it off the main road to safety. I haven't been back to it since.

Sounds very much like a petrol pump problem. If it isn't clicking take the cover off and gentley clean the contacts - usually a piece of thin cardboard between the contacts will do. Then re assemble and turn on the ignition. If it still doesn't click steadily give it a bash with a spanner.

What do you mean by 'clicking'? It's turning over okay, but then stops moving. What cover? By contacts do you mean spark plugs or the things under the round plastic cover next to the coil?
Sorry ask so many questions but I don't know all the bits yet.

no, the petrol pump is on the bulkhead at the back of the engine bay. next to the battery on the right hand side as you look at it . It is cylindical and about 2inches across.

There is a wire held on by a cap on the right hand end the petrol pump contacts are under this cover.

When you turn the ignition on, but before you turn the starter you should hear it click (like a heart beat) a few times then stop. - if you dont hear this it's probably stuck. you could try tapping it with a spanner or something like it , but the best solution is to clean the contacts under the plastic cover.

My traveller had exactly the same symptoms when I first bought it and it was the petrol pump.

What is your location - someone may be close enough to have a look with you.

looks like this only its on its side horizontal not vertical as in the pic!
