Sills - straight to curved ?

Post by paulhumphries »

I've been "playing" again and might have thought of another way of saving my very rotten convertible.

I was starting to remove the doors and was looking at the sills.
Mine are crumbling with "plate upon plate" of previous repairs including a length of heavy angle iron welded on top at footwell area.
As such it's impossible to see what they should really be like.
If you put a straight edge against perfect inner sills are they straight or curved ?

BTW the extra angle section that is supposed to be inside convertible sills is also almost rotted away which give you an idea of how bad the car is :-(

Thanks.

I'll forget my idea then (which was make a perimiter chassis type frame out of box section steel section).
