Traveller and Van rearveiw mirrors.

Post by heathy12 »

Just completed a 300mile round trip today in the Traveller in about 5 hours, not one problem and managed 70 at some points, big grin on my face now after a nice days driving. :D

Anyway, my question.

Part of my trip included fast dual carriageways and some motorways where I found myself (and my 950cc!) Overtaking quite a few modern cars which got me thinking.
Does anyone else have problems seeing past the wood betweent he two rear doors in the rear veiw mirror? I found a few times that things dissapeared behind these two bars so I couldnt see them then appeared very quickly passed me!
So Has anyone moved their mirror over a few inches oor fitted a larger type?
I had quite a bit of time to think about this and I cam to the descision that if you moved the mirror to the passengers side so that the right hand upper attachment bolt fits into the left hand driled hole you might get more vision?
Anyone tried this or can picture what I mean. I might try it tommorrow and see if it improves the rear veiw.
Oh, I put van down in the title as I guess its pretty similar!

I have an extra stick on mirror on my van on the passenger side to see that blind spot in the van

either that or weave in and out a bit !!!!!!!

i've been wondering about this too...... I did wonder if there was perhaps a non-authentic mirror one could use which would give a wider angle of vision?

heathy12 I assume you have the nice big "van" wing-mirrors? they are a real help 8)

that will not work if you keep the mirror in the same position.
you need to move the mirror to the passenger side
it works fine with a stick on mirror, unles you have passengers :D
