tap and valve
got the valve, but just dont have confidence in it. also picked up an old tap - much more reassuring! think i'll get hold of the base for a tap and fit that instead. and it solves the problem of fitting a cable!
of course, later on, i can change my mind again and fit a valve, who knows.
next job - removing the old valve. have been peering at the bolts and panicking - they look well painted on and hard to get to!

If you take the rocker box of it will give more room and then use a bit of paint stipper to get the paint off and you will be able to see the bolts or nuts and studs depends whats been used, if they look rusty give then a soak with plus gas and then you should be able to take it apart.removing the old valve. have been peering at the bolts and panicking - they look well painted on and hard to get to!
