cords or trancosteel

can any help me im trying to find out if these compainys are still around
i was read a old car mechanics book from 1961 yes old i know
but there are adverts in there for new piston ring thay say that there interlocking piston rings eliminating gap line up ,thay are rebore saving rings expand horizontally to seal oval or taperd worn cylinders and vertically to seal piston ring grooves as well because of its spring tension ,the tranncosteel interlocking ring expands outwardly against the cylinder wall adapting itself to the shape of the cylinder evern where considerable taper and out of round condititions prevail

now after reading this thay sound like good piston rings i have tryed to find out if i can get them from any were if i can can some one tell me or one the same .i need to replace my ones in my traveller 1275 engine stanerd pistons i thiunk can not remember seeing any other markings for being rebored

Well the only ones I remember were the cords one and the top ring was stepped so it wouldnt break on the wear lip, but I havent seen them for many years.

Do a search for Hepolite rings, but a rebore is the answer.

yes may be but a days work with these rings will do the job and save money that is why thay are hard to find and not around any more shame i wish i could go back in time

If you could go back in time you wouldn't need a rebore!

na we still have some for the army trucks and onece there done thay last at lest 10 years that is why the old bedford mj from the 60/70s are still goning
