well as you know i'm restoring my van and it's gonna be quite shiny

obviously I'm cleaning all the fixings and getting all the rust off 'em
oh btw by fixings i mean nuts and bolts, stuff like that
so anyway, yeah, do you reckon it's worth getting them plated? There's a company very near where i live which can plate them (with anything including gold lol
) and they recommend plating them with zinc and passivate - apparently this gives the fixings an iridescent finish 
which stops rust developing - even if it is scratched the zinc corrodes in preference to the steel underneath, so it's gonna keep the fixings rust-free for years (that's what the nice man said ).the minimum cost is thirty squids.
so whaddaya reckon??
