new headlining

well i removed and fitted the haedlining today, ghastly job really

, next time it needs doing ,ill get another car with a good one

., has anyone tried a hairdyer to remove the last of creases? heard storys of taking back window out, no need whatsoever, cheers steve

Is it pulled tight enough.?

vans and pick ups have a third of that and they are hard enough to do

Some earler cars have the headlining glued around the rear window aperture. These need to have the window removed.

Who's headlining did you use Steve. Yours looks plenty big enough, to be finally tweeked and stretched, the ones we have had from Newton Commercial have been upto 20mm too narrow, and look gastly. (They have been made aware of this and promised to look into the problem) .
Must admit its one of the worst jobs to do on the Minor and can ruin an otherwise good job if not fitted correctly

hiya mate , its of ebay , few years old i think, it was a bit short at the front screen, just made, if you lok close u can c staples in the fillet ,but hidden by the fleck pattern, would have been easier if i had new cables ready, steve

THe headlining in Sophie is in good condition but a dirty. I was going to replace it when I do the interior with a NC kit. But now I'm worried Jonathon has had a bad experience with the kit fro NC and its is obviously not an easy job.
Whats the verdict.
Do you think it is possible to clean the existing and leave it in? Bear in mind I've got to have the car sprayed inside and out so it will need masking up. Or should I bite the bullet and replace it after the respray.

Is there any better supplier than NC?

When fitting headlinings they tend to be tight SR's does look a little baggy(no offence) you can use a small fan heater to make the headlining more supple this is probably why Newtons seem to small when you heat them they become more plyable. I'll get a few piks of my new one and that was fitted round a roll cage and with the rear window out.

A few pics would be really good I've just ordered my total interior kit from NC.
How hard was it to fit James? Did you use new wire rope? If so where did you get it?

It ain't the easiest job! plus a rollbar makes it harder, Mine came from ESM I did replace wires but they were from my friend. I think NC will supply them if not try ESM (unless anyone else knows of other people) start with the front capping as once in, this is pig to remove then go to back window (pull tight front to back) then secure wires front first then rear, use heater to allow fabric to give! sounds easy like that, but it isn't

this is my effort. Good luck, one sunday should do it!
