Any tips for removing rusted up torsion bars, ideally i do not want to have to dismantle the front end, the bar moves in and out of the front part fine but the other end is seized solid onto the adjuster arm. Any tips for getting it off? at the moment i am thinking just grind through the bar as i have brand new ones to go on anyway, is this a bad idea?
Getting very frustrated I have spent a whole morning just trying to remove one stupid torsion bar.
Any advice greatly appreciated
Cheers

The eyebolt should be easy to remove to allow you to get the whole bar off (unless someone 'not very competent' has welded the eyebolt in place).
Removing the rear arm from the torsion bar if/when rusted on is a pain but you can stand upright on the front end of the bar to get a 'well' for a puddle of release fluid. After putting fresh fluid on every day for up to a week, they should shift using a big hammer.
(just don't use the hammer when 'not concentrating properly' like I did with the 54's rear arms last year! Thumbs can be very painfull when given a full blow with a big hammer...)
