Window weather strips

Post by dnac »

Hi all, I got bored real quick with my windows ratteling in the doors, so have bought new weather strips for either side of the glass.

Can anybody point me in the direction of how on earth they fit.

Thanks

Dave

I think they have captive clips (like door cards) so prise the old ones off and transfer the clips. There should be enough room to work if the window's all the way down. It's a while since I did mine so I'm a bit vague on this.

yes., wind down the windows fully before you start. The easiest way is to hold the clips in the end of long-nosed pliers, push them through the window seal and into the door, and when they're just in, push them all the way from the behind till they click into place. Get ready to loose some though, they're a right pain in the bum. I lost 25 down the inside of the door and couldn't get them back with a magnet either. Kinda rattle when I go round corners..... :o
