Well you can add me to the recent list, as it looks like my head gasket is playing up between 1 & 2, this seems to be spreading at the moment and I cant do anything until the weekend and the National is getting nearer.

I think you have a valid point there Bill I am sure that is what makes the fuel evaporation problems in the Moggie worse than it used to be, as I know its always been a bit of a problem but it certainly seems worse nowadays and any assocated rubber in fuel line systems in older cars is affected as well.

It is quite weird though, how many of us did their headgasket over the last couple of weeks?
Do you think the oil companies are mixing something nasty in their petrol?

Well the head came of yesterday and the nuts came undone rather easy so wondering if they were torqued done properly in the 1st place (nothing to do with me as I havent touched the engine) and the gasket was going between 3 & 4 although I thought it was between 1 & 2, but more disturbing is that the bypass stub has been patched/bodged in the past and has now totally given up the ghost so a new one is on order and then off to a pals to get the old one out and fit a new one, and the National is getting very near.
Cheers
