my convertible's present hood has the seams showing on the inside, ie the seams are not behind the hoops by about two inches.
i am right in saying the hoops should be directly under the seams am i not?
i'm beginning to wonder if i have the correct hood frame?
my car is a genuine 1966 and i have four hoops to the frame - the back one above the rear window, three in the middle and the front bar that bolts down.
the only other style of frame (i think) is one less hoop on the split-screen.
if there is no other style of frame then why don't my seams run behing the hoops?
can anyone with a convertible check to see if their seams are behind the hoops and also tell me the distance to the centre of each of their hoops?
my measurements are (from the front): 14ins to the second; 12.5ins to the third; 14ins to the fourth; 17ins to the last one above the back window.
the reason for all this is i've just received a new mohair hood and the seams are in the same place as the hood that is currently on the car, this would suggest that the frame isn't right!!
