The wiper wheelbox and possibly the spiral rod. These can be dismantled and turned 180 degrees so that the normally unused parts come into play.

Unfortunately it's fiddly and involves a bit of stripping down. I understand that the wheelboxes can be stripped down while still attached to the car but I have not tried it.

Hello Cliff,

have you tried moving the arm on the splines, or is it just too floppy?
To move the rack onto unused parts of the wheel box is quite easy. Remove the wiper arms from the wheel boxes. Remove the cover from the wiper motor, noting where the domed cover is in relation to the flat plate (mark). Unclip the rack from the motor connecting rod and pull it out from the rack tube. You will see the wiper spindles turning as you do. When the rack is disengaged from the wheel boxes, i.e they have both stopped turning, then rotate the wheelbox spindles by 180 degrees then replace the rack and reconnect\reassemble. The rack is now on an unused part of the wheel, if nobody has done this before, that is?

It is easier to do than actually writing the procedure.

You can also turn the rack over - to get even more 'unworn' parts in play! But do just check first that it's not simply the arm mount loose on the wheelbox splines.
