Windscreen Washers

Post by hallbt »

Morris Traveller 1969 G Reg [Kings Langley Herts]
Had car many years did a little restoration but now starting again in earnest.
The washer doesn't work, hand pump on dash and tubing seem OK. however the supply pipe simply sticks into the bottle. Should there be a non-return valve/ filter etc at this point? I'm sure there should. does anyone know a supplier?
Thanks

Brian

For a small item like that (call them to double-check though) it's just first class post.

Or get some other things you'll need too - orders over £60 or £70 have free carriage.

£60 is the free carriage break point.... I didn't realise when I ordered new brake cylinders for Phoebe and the carriage took it just under £60 :( Oh well!

Mine used to have a little tapered brass tube with a tiny glass bead in it as the non-return valve but the glass bead kept working its way up the flexible pipe so I replaced it with that very plastic thingy illustrated above. Used to have to pump it repeatedly to finally get a squirt but now one pump = one squirt. :)
