Is Black a standard colour?

My recently purchased 1955 minor is Black, Is this an original colour? and where can i obtain some either in Leicestershire or Coventry?

Failing that, nip down to your local Motor Factors, and buy some "Taxi Black" for TX1 cabs - it's eactly the same mix. I bought some black paint from ESM, and it has Taxi Black written as the code. :S
