Steering Rack Measurements/Help Required

Post by custommartin »

Hi All,

I know i'm probably asking a lot but can someone please measure a steering rack for me?

I need;-

1) Total length - including the track rod ends
2) Distance between the clamps
3) Distance from o/s clamp to column spindle.

and........a pic or two would be good also!

Anyone willing to help? - Thanks!

I know, I know - I have 2 Minors but neither has a standard rack or standard mounting points!!!!!!!!!

PLUS
Does anyone have a rack and clamps for sale?
Let me know.

BTW - I'm annoyed 'cos I sold 2 racks last year! - blooming typical, EH!

I've certainly got a RHD rack. It is the series 2 variety with beefier track rod ends, and as far as I know it is ok (it was removed 400 miles after last years MOT)

clamp areas are approx 18.5 wide
Distance between inside edges of clamp area approx 330mm
(Distance between outside edges of clamp area approx 330mm + 2 x 18.5 8) )

Distance between column and centre of o/s clamp approx 40mm

Unfortunately I don't have the rack clamps - they were used on the LHD rack that replaced this one.
