Good points, well made. There's absolutely no reason that I can think of for not joining. If anyone has a reason then let's hear it so that it can be addressed. Perhaps we need a new thread on this as the original is already 12 pages long and 4 years old !

Just to remind people of some of the benefits (in no particular order): Technical Advice, Friendship, Discounts on Spares, Power to fight legislation, Reduced RAC subscription, Good insurance scheme, Excellent magazine, Spares service for hard to find items, etc.

Thanks for your support, very much appreciated.

Ok, lets start a new thread, and also hear what you beleive to be the 'irritating downsides' so that they can be addressed.

Don't forget there's a few Forum members who reside outside of the UK.
Sure, that's no reason not to join the MMOC but we wouldn't get the benefits that a UK resident would get.

I have to accept this, but isn't your recent posting at least one good reason to join? :D

It looks like it's going to be a lot easier to use an Alta head gasket for my Mazengarb head rather than get one custom made here (I hope  ).

I'm sure Minor Matters has his details but I don't have our clubs copies to hand.

Can anyone help ?

Sorry Bill, I deleted the original post, but I stand by it - didn't want to rock the boat too much :D but would like to see some things change.

Andrew, I can assure you that I too would like certain things to change. A perfect example of this is what I consider to be the totally unsatisfactory situation regarding the NEC. Unfortunately in this particular instance, without the support of the membership, I am powerless to make changes which I strongly believe would benefit the club. :(

However in your case, if you have concerns which if addressed could possibly encourage non members to join the club, lets hear them. If we don't know what these concerns are, then how can we do anything about them? :-?

Touche  .

It's going to cost me around $65.00/year to be a member of the MMOC though  . My local club is only $20.00/year (but I have recently been awarded life membership so that's even better for me now :D ).
Our club receives Minor Matters so I get to read it once in a while.

Have a look at the cost of membership of other car clubs, I think you will find that the MMOC is a very good deal. Remember also that some clubs limit access to their websites to members only. Don't you think its a small amount to pay to possibly secure the future of a club that offers so much? :-?

Just a clever computer - I like to convert the prices for bench seats and pick-up beds for sale down there, and weep...

Very true - I was only trying to be useful and give people an idea of the cost. Back to the subject, folks?
