Diff Oil Amount.

I have a 1963 1098 with the diff that has the filler plug directly facing you when looking from the rear bumper. I've drained the diff, and replaced the oil. However, according to the capacity charts the diff takes 0.84 litres, while others say to just fill it until it weeps from the filler hole. I ...

Ah, of course all the Minors I'm used to are pull starters so that explains why I've never seen that before.

On the '63 cars it's a piece of plastic so I think it's just there to make it turn smoother through the bracket.

Re: Morris Minor Pickup 1965 not starting

I'm curious as to why the starter solenoid is all the way down there, is that a pickup thing? (the hole in the bulkhead suggests to me no). Surely that's a terrible place in regards to water splash up while driving? Also, maybe it's to do with that switch on the speedo, but I wonder what that lucas ...

Re: Ethanol protection for the original Valvemaster Plus?

Thanks, as I understand it the new Classic VM/+ is a different formula. It may have been on here, but there was a post complaining about the changes. The information in the post basically said there's now little point getting the Plus version over the regular version as the Plus version only differs...

Re: Ethanol protection for the original Valvemaster Plus?

Thanks for the reply, can I check, do you mean Castrol branded Valvemaster Plus, or Classic branded Valvemaster Plus (or both?).

Ethanol protection for the original Valvemaster Plus?

Hi, I just wondered if anyone knew of any compatible ethanol protection that could be used along with the original Castrol Valvemaster Plus (before it became Classic and lost its octane boost) as the company said their Ethaguard poduct must not be mixed with the original VM+. I found a whole unopene...

Is that a resealable plastic bag or something special? (I found the manufacturer of the seals, but not the type of bag you're referring to).

Also, so no clips then? I saw on eBay the front ones were sold with the clips (which I can't remember the name of but look like a hairclip).

Re: What wheel bearings are these?

Thanks for the reply - I've been avoiding opening them since I don't know when they'd get fitted (though I do need a front wheel bearing replaced on my car). So there's no confusion, I realise now that it looks like I've got dozens of packets as I accidentally duplicated some in the image  so:...

Re: Detecting Coolant Leak (UV dye)

Can't wait to see your car come Halloween :D

Actually I keep meaning to get some RLD4 to trace a PAS leak on my other car, but since it may end up at the garage I might let them have the fun since they'll likely have to do whichever pipe is leaking anyway :)

Issue with png files?

Screenshot_20240329_161135.png As you can see it was under 5mb, in fact I kept reducing it in size first from 5, then 4.7, 4.5 and finally 4.4 which still gave the error (I even tried going out of edit post mode and then going back in just in case there was a weird cache issue), so I gave up and at...

What wheel bearings are these?

These were again spares that came with my Mothers' Minor. I think they're front wheel bearings but wanted to check if 1) they were 2) if they're complete kits and most importantly 3) were still usable. As you can see they're still fully sealed in their packages which makes viewing them difficult ,bu...

Yup it's visible now and I can confirm that's the bulkhead/bonnet rubber I linked to previously. :) Also now that we have a view of your winscreen, you require the Pre-Dec '66 front window rubber (the one that does not come with the chrome rubber strip) from my previous post, as you have the twin me...

The photo is a little dark  I presume you mean the one that goes the width of the bulkhead in an arc that the bonnet rests on at the windscreen end of the front, in which case: https://www.morrisminorspares.com/body-inc-panels-trim-c21/bonnet-fittings-c22/rubber-seal-for-bulkhead-fits-under-bo...

Must be quite unusual to sign your cars (I presume) name onto a towbar, as an aside, you're quite lucky that came up, usually this is what we get:
