Re: Dip or blast

Thanks for the advice, dipping is definately off the cards then. I have therefore been looking into blasting and I gather the main issue with it is that if you get it done industrially the pressure they use is high, hence being able to clean a car in a couple of hours. If you use a DIY pressure one,...

Dip or blast

I'm stripping my old rust bucket of a traveller to the chassis with a view to remove the rust, patch the holes and have a car that will not need rot removal for many years. Once I have got the car to the chassis I need to get it cleaned up, paint, rust and years of grot removed. Should I go for dipp...

Re: I used to love it but it's all over now.

If you want a sensible car get a kia which does 86mpg, is conjestion charge free and zero tax. My wife would love one and it would suit her down to the earth. However a morris minor is viewed as a project or hobby, so sadly those are the prices we will be charged. I have an old Harley and a travelle...

Re: charles ware morris minors

I can offer just a tiny bit to this all. I have had a value spring go in a motorcycle engine, it was fixed and when I asked about it was told that sometime springs of any type can simply not fully take to the process that the metal goes through to make them springy. It is not always possible to iden...

Re: Restorer for my old Lily

Though I could "get away" with doing a minimal amount I suspect that Lily has had that done to her for years and its all starting to build up for her. Therefore I really want her check over, welding done, under sealing and a nice new paint job. I know that I do have some wood issues that n...

Restorer for my old Lily

I took my Morris Traveller "Lily" off the road at the beginning of summer to do some needed restoration on the old girl. However as happens at times I get dumped with a work contract away from home, so now my evenings are spent in a flat and my weekends on the M1 / M25, so no time left for...

Well there is a plate on the side of the engine which says 1100 so at least i know the cc of the unit. The original plate has been removed leaving me with little means of accurate identification then. Well this might help. I have got bills on this car going back into this cars history. The unit was ...
