Re: What's your Morris Minor worth to you?
I'm often asked if my trav is for sale. It would be, at the right price. If someone offered me 25,000€ I'd sell it 20,000€ probably well, OK, yes 15,000€ and we're getting iffy, what with the hassle & cost of finding a replacement, and for that you don't get the Newton Commercial seats, you can ...

Re: Expensive Minor
No way is it the only one in Europe!
As to the engine, the vendor when asked what he'd put in replied that it was one with 4 cylinders.
The more observant amongst you will note the car is a split screen, therefore it must have been made before October 1956, the text states the car is a 1959 model.

Expensive Minor
There's car purporting to be a 1959 Minor 1000 for sale on ebay.fr, the starting price is 15,000 euros (getting on for £13,000 but it depends on the day, what with the UK general election kerfuffle). The vendor has said he actually wants 22,500 euros for it. It's a split screen: yes, I know, they st...

Everyday users here! Van out in all weather for work often towing a trailer, & trav with dogs in the back. Today I was in the trav towing a motorbike trailer as part of the back-up team for a classic bike run. Glorious weather and for once I didn't have to pick up hubby's bike, it went all the w...

Re: what does this sticker mean ?
The sticker is indeed the annual one, for 1990, which you have to buy if you want to drive on Swiss motorways. The colour changes every year. It was introduced in 1985 following legislation which few Swiss people thought would be enacted, and it caused a furore. To show that the tax has been paid, t...

Re: What mileage do we do a year in mogs
In late 2008 I wrote in the Minor Matters letters page : "Stuck in a traffic jam recently on the Bordeaux ring road my Minor speedo chugged and clicked itself 'around the clock' for a second time. Lots of Minors have done that, but with nothing better to do in the static traffic I worked out th...

In addition to the sensible lists given, do take the phone N° of your favourite spares supplier.
Shipping parts to France is not v expensive and as sod's law is alive and well it will be the tiddly piece you didn't take which fails.

Thanks!
Swing was a gd, but he threw a sickie, retired early and came back to us, he'd been our second puppy. He went on MOT 2002 to the Tarn Gorges.

I know Bert Brett, though I haven't seen him for years!! After he gave up with Minors, he bacame a cyclist. Any chance you could post a picture. How long have you owned it? I bought it in 1993 from Cyril Kieldsen (who bought it from Bert). I took the Sunday overnight coach up from here to London (p...

Welcome.
I suspect a lot of the members posting here are male, but the MMOC itself isn't male-dominated.
Chauvinist attitudes do persist in certain pre-historic corners of the moggie universe but then so what? The dinosaurs are never the good-looking guys.

Bizarre ebay item
Time to clear out those rally plaque boards, folks, there could be money down in your garage.... someone is asking 18e90 (plus p&p) for a 1984 Weston Park National Rally plaque on eBay.fr!
I've still got my plaque, now if I could only find my trophy for that event (3rd place in Concours)....

As a former MOT organiser (1985-1991) I can assure you that Portugal was looked at in my time, but dismissed due to cost - as were Scandanavian destinations. The long ferry crossings were too expensive for many participants, especially if they wanted to take a trailer. 2010 is already fixed. Any ide...

Grand Masters... don't think I could go there! I achieved Masters Class once in a car I used every day, but once was enough. You can also make more space under the boot floor, on the LH side.....cut out a flap approx 45cm square and hinge it on the metal bar on the back of the back seat. I don't know how to add a diagram to the post :( and I haven't got time to check it out tonight, so if you want a pic pm me your email a...
