Ed, I've just done a de-coke, and replaced the head for an unleaded one, on my Morris. Quite an easy job, and very satisfying. Takes about 2-3 hours to replace the head etc. Quick tip... When you come to replace the head, use gasket goo on the new cylinder head gasket - the 'blue' type that doesn't ...

Strobe timing

Hello, Can anyone give me some guidance on setting the timing via a strobe, on my 1963 Morris Minor (1098cc). The Haynes manual states that the RPM should be set below 450 (I think), or the centrifugal weights will affect the set up. The manual that comes with the strobe states the RPM should be set...

I've always felt it was fuel starvation, and idle speed. When you take your foot off the accelerator the engine revs. drop to almost stalling poi...

Now, most owners go to their local model shop, and buy something like a Humbrol 'post office red' paint and set about the job. Originally the colour wasn't red, it was a burgundy ...

Another top tip.

The cheapest ignition immobiliser...

1) Park car.
2) Lift bonnet.
3) Unclip distributor cap.
4) Remove rotor arm.

Jobs done.

I've had the same problem with my 1963 2-door saloon. The boot wouldn't shut after the new spongy seal was in place, even with full adjustment of the catch. Solution... The boot locking mechanism is fixed to the underside of the boot lid with four screws. Undo these, and pack with four washers, and ...
