Re: First Time Welding - What Equipment?
Have a look at Synergic welders. I found a big advantage of mine was the weight, the Synergic is much lighter and makes access much easier. A conventional welder needs a trolley and long enough leads.

Not common knowledge but many oils are produced in the same plants. Visited a well known supplier and noticed various cans in different liveries.

I concur with Bill, you're missing this part: https://www.morrisminorspares.com/electrical-c54/headlights-all-types-c58/headlamp-headlight-inner-metal-holder-for-sealed-beam-halogen-unit-p829791 It was used with several, but not all, the headlamp assemblies over the years. All mountings had a 'clam...

Elbow Grease is just the stuff. Used this on upholstery, carpets and loads of other stuff. Cheap and environmentally good. https://groceries.asda.com/product/kitchen-cleaning-spray-wipes/elbow-grease-all-purpose-degreaser-spray/1000120228346?cmpid=ppc-_-shopping_bing-_--_-bing-_--_-dskwid-s927000797...

Sealed Beam Headlamp Fitting
The 2 point sealed beams were off the car when purchased. I am now fitting them but I cannot get the lamp unit clamped when assembled. I'm thinking there is something missing that fits between the housing and the lamp. Photos show the components. Can anyone advise please?

Re: Buying taps and dies
It was general observation Phil. Yes all thread sizes are identified if you have an original car but as I found when stripping mine some were not as spec. Also if like me you work on/restore other cars the tool proves really useful. Personally I would not spend the money on a thread identifier as per...

Got mine from ESM and they are longer and take up all the adjustment. From the centre line of the taper bolt to the end of the thread is 80mm. Has anyone identified any shorter ones?

Toe In
From the posts and the manual the toe in is 3/32 inch. I assume this is the total by the trammel method. If so would it be 3/64 on both sides by the string method?

Re: Front bump stop repair
If you can't find an item on ESM ring them they are most helpful. I couldn't find DIF155 extended grease nipple. Rang and John confirmed for some reason it had been removed from the website but he went and checked the bin and confirmed stock. All while I waited on the phone.
