Re: Fitting beehive springs.

Excellent. Thank you. Now that is really interesting. I did not realise that the design of the spring hook has completely changed! Stephen With the leg of the parts supplied hook shortened I found no need to rotate them, just compress with pliers and slide behind the backplate lug. :tu1: Yes. I did...

Re: 1098 Carb

Why would you fit a different carb to original manifold?
The original is perfectly OK in its application, are you having problems with it?

If its the spindle wear from you other post, have you thought of bushing it?

Re: 1098 oil pressure light pressure.

An audible alarm wired to the higher pressure is also an option :tu1: As you say Phil an early warning of dropping pressure is preferable. Oil temp is particularly advantageous In a competition engine such as yours. Did once have a rod exit the side of the block on the dyno before the oil pressure d...

Re: 1098 oil pressure light pressure.

But if it comes on driving its probably too late, much prefer a gauge, that's why
I have oil and temp guages next to each other, you get used to normal needle positions and notice if out of the norm, even when not reading the actual numbers.

Thankyou for hte tip - following your advice and some UTube videos, the servo assist is definately not working. I suspect the vacuum and will investigate....somehow... Ratio servo??? Re: Gearboxes

The output shaft speed would be the same versus road speed as it's the diff ratio. If the speedo drive pinion ratio that the ruling factor, count the revolution of speedo drive to revolutions of out put on both gearboxes.
A different 3rd gear as example would only effect engine rpm to vehicle speed.

Re: Remote brake assist servo - how they work

Remove the vacuum hose from servo end and plug it, brake fluid can still pass through servo but without diaphragm assistance. Compare this brake feel with when the pipe is normally connected.
When working correctly the effect is dependant on what ratio servo is fitted.

It’s no longer featured in this tin, anyone know if this omission is the way now or maybe just the make of grease. Interesting to hear.
