Re: Heater Issues
Thanks for all the replies. We will try all the suggestions at the weekend. Unfortunately work commitments restrict me to weekends. We haven't yet flushed the engine or checked the pump - so that will be next. Due to the length of time its been sitting its probably prudent to change the pump, thermo...

Re: Heater Issues
Hi everyone - Thanks for all the replies. To be honest we have tried all these suggestions. Earlier today we removed rad top and bottom hoses and gave it a good flush out - it was pretty clean. We also removed heater hoses, flushed and back flushed. I was hoping to see a lot of gunge come out but ag...

Heater Issues
Hi all We have been experiencing a problem with the heater on our 67 Morris 1000. When running the engine, with heater valve open, the inlet hose to the heater gets hot. The outlet hose only gets hot, and heater works, if the revs are kept high. When revs return to normal tick over speed the outlet ...

Re: Oil Filter Problems
Thanks for the quick response and Photos Phil - very helpful. I suspect you are correct with the large washer. I plan to remove the head to allow easy fitting of the new gasket. Ill continue with the make do spring and replace with proper spring when available and the filter bowl seal. Thanks again...

Oil Filter Problems
Hi all. I need some more advice. I drained the engine oil last weekend with a view to replacing the oil and filter etc. I was a bit baffled with the contents of the oil cannister and it seemed the previous filter wasnt doing much of anything. I had a look at other queries here, did a bit of research...

Handbrake Cables
Hi all. Hopefully this is easily answered.. We have recently replaced all the brake cylinders, shoes, defective pipe, fluid and the brakes seem to be working. A bit of bother with the bleeding but got there in the end. Tomorrow I am replacing both handbrake cables. One is almost worn through so I th...

Re: Replacing Brakes
Thanks everyone for the replies. Having another go at this tomorrow. I assumed it was a metal to metal fit and was measuring to see if nipple screwed right in. I think Im on the right track now. Good tip on the dust cover - ill get some of these ordered once we have bled the system. Im bound to have...

Re: Replacing Brakes
Hi. Thanks for the replies. I've had another look at this after reading your comments. It seems we fitted the rear nipple to the front cylinder which caused the issue. The nipples came with the cylinders so we didn't specify type. What caused the confusion was refitting the existing nipples to the r...

Replacing Brakes
Hi All. Looking for some advice. Our Morris Minor 1000 has been garaged for around 12 years. Consequently the brakes have seized. All new parts have been ordered and received from ESM. We did get the cheaper ones which one of the posters didnt recommend. Only read this after the parts were delivered...

Re: Faulty Fuel Tank Sender / Fuel Gauge
Hi Bob Thanks for the welcome and reply. its strange times indeed for us all. The update is that the new Regulator sorted the issue. The petrol gauge is now giving an accurate reading. We did check the new Sender with the old. The new one, although a diferrent configuartion, had the same dimensions ...
