Nice little delivery in today's post. An early French language brochure for Belgian and Luxembourg dealers. I saw a photo of this flyer in one of Ray Newell's early books so I was pleased to snap this one up for a cheap price.

Re: Drive it day 2023
Took a trip out to the coast at Berwick with our local car club....just in time for rain and wind. I never actually stopped to take any photos, was too busy driving :D We did however pass over the very recently re-opened Union Chain Bridge - teworlds oldest vehicular suspension bridge -that crosses ...

You could also try the Morris Minor Registry of North America, they seem to have Canadian members and different chapters across the country.

Re: Number Plates (size, shape)
I was unsure as to whether the backing plates were a factory figment or left to the whims of the supplying dealer - much like the style of number plate you got. However, I've found quite a few photos of vehicles on the assembly line at Cowley and awaiting despatch with backing plates fitted so must ...

Re: Braided fuel house
Thanks Teake, that's pretty much what I ended up doing. I had a spare banjo coupling and the female hose tail to for to the pump, bought some ethanol resistant hose and basically made a new hose that was several inches longer than the off the shelf hose. Works fine now and has plenty of clearance. I...

Re: Number Plates (size, shape)
It seems that quite a lot of late sixties and early seventies cars had pressed aluminium plates in yellow and white for back and front rather than black and silver all round. I once had a 1969 ex met panda car and it had pressed plates and the rear one was shaped to fit the boot aperture.

Morris fastback
Whilst doing a bit of googling earlier on today looking for a particular image, I came across a sketch drawing online of a proposed Morris fastback. This design was sketched up BMC engineers in Australia and released in about 1960. The design doesn't seem to have progressed beyond this sketch. What ...

I've found the folks at Miniphernalia good to deal with too. They're primary market is Minis but they do cover a range of BMC products including Minors.

Re: Number Plates (size, shape)
Cheap number plates are just that, cheap. The quality and aesthetics are often very poor. Framptons are the retail arm of Jepsons - a long established maker of quality plates. Ace (if they are still in business) and Tippers are the other two suppliers I'd recommend. Both make the correct size and sh...

Just tested it from here - the MMOC home link further up this page. Seems that to do online booking, you need to log in first but you can download the PDF booking form without logging in.

Re: Engine number
Some of those that can be bought on eBay are fairly original font. Remember they do need to be reverse stamped. Some of those for sale are conventially stamped and so are obvious. Some others have the incorrect font and size like these ones https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ENGINE-NUMBER-PLATE-CP343-TO-FIT...

Re: What do you want me to tell you?
I've find that as well. Conversations are prioritised by ''relevance' rather than date, it's hard to search for a specific topic or question and no way of categorising subjects - like you can do in the forum here. It's just not a good platform for ongoing conversations or threads. Like I say, good f...

I don't know if it's official but Russ posted on the fb page about the new LCV website earlier on. Having clicked onto the new site, no mention of the forum or any links at all, so I guess it's finished.

Re: What do you want me to tell you?
You might hope that some new owners might find that the technical information and advice on here is second to none and of more use than the Facebook page. It's probably only useful for advertising events and sharing photos but that's about it. The trouble is, the forum isn't advertised enough. Whene...

Vynide treatment
What products are people using to treat and soften the vynide seats ? My front seats feel tight rather than supple. If they were leather, I'd use saddle soap or similar to soften and treat them. Recommendations welcome.
Thanks ,

Re: What do you want me to tell you?
You're spot on Berni. I sometimes drop into the Facebook page and some of the questions (and answers) are frightening! It's great to see new owners but it seems a lot of them do absolutely no research or test drives, but rather just buy a car and then ask the most basic questions on Facebook or comp...

Re: Period Correct Paint Colour?
There do seem to be two shades of Trafalgar blue, or BU37, though? I've come across a lighter and a darker one. Yes, there are two shades but confusingly, both with the BU37 code. I can't remember if the early shade was the lighter or darker shade. If anyone wants to paint a full car with trafalgar...

Taken on one of our trips up to Moffat for the Rootes rally https://i.imgur.com/r1tCNbF.jpg Great picture Panky. This is my 'local' AA box. Oddly enough, in all the times I have passed with a Morris, usually on the way to or from Moffat rally, I've never stopped for a photo. Really should do that t...
