When to re-torque manifold nuts?
Can anyone remind me when I need to re-torque the manifold nuts - I've covered about 250 miles since fitting a new LCB exhaust manifold, so about 15 heat cycles. Thought it was about 500 miles but can't find anything to support that!

Re: Suggestions for releasing a stubborn exhaust section?!
Thanks Bill
I did consider that but your endorsement gave me the courage to try it out. Pleased to say it worked like a treat!

Suggestions for releasing a stubborn exhaust section?!
Does anyone have some good suggestions for releasing a stubborn exhaust section? I’ve tried soaking the joint in penetrating oil, and heating with a blow torch (not oxy-acetylene) before hitting against a pair of U-bolts clamped around the pipe with a club hammer but it won’t budge. I need to re-ass...

Good autojumbles this summer?
Does anyone know of any decent autojumbles taking place this summer, ideally in the southeast, where I might find Morris parts? Was thinking of going to Beaulieu’s spring event but comments I read online suggested that it (and especially the September one) had become a victim of its own success, wit...

How to paint coachlines on a saloon
Has anyone painted coachlines on a Morris saloon who could give me some guidance? Sadly, a Buegler pinstriping tool is beyond my reach but a friend has offered to loan me some proper signwriter’s brushes. I’ll be using Humbrol enamel paint. However, I’m not sure if my hand is steady enough to paint ...

Re: Roller bearing thrust release
Thanks guys, good to know.
In that case, would anyone know which are the better brands of new carbon thrust bearings and who sells them? EMS, perhaps?

Roller bearing thrust release
Has anyone fitted a roller bearing thrust release? What are they like? I think I heard there might be an issue with the way it aligns in the clutch fork, but I would have throught that since the thrust bearing is free to swivel in the u-shaped cups of the clutch fork, there wouldn't be a problem? ht...

Are ethanol levels increasing in Esso super unleaded?
I’ve heard rumours that ethanol levels in Esso super unleaded are rising, and wondering if there’s any truth to this. The standard line is that Esso Synergy Supreme 99 can contain up to 5% ethanol, but it appeared that super unleaded sold in the south and some other areas was reported to contain no ...

Best masking tape & technique for painting coachlines
Could anyone recommend the best tape and technique for painting coachlines using Humbrol enamel paint? I’ve heard Frog Tape is very good and see it’s available in two types, with green for multisurface and yellow for delicate surfaces. Which should I use? Also, I’m guessing I should degrease the sur...

Thanks.

Has anyone been to the Le Mans Classic?
Strange question for the MMOC board, I know, but has anyone attended the Le Mans Classic who could share their thoughts? I thought it might be a bit like the Monaco Classic Grand Prix I went to a few years back but the Le Mans Classic is massive and hellishly expensive by comparison! Basic tickets c...

Re: 1275 exhaust - two questions!
Thanks guys - will check out the under-axle option and also call Powerflow. And yes, 1 5/8-inch bore!
In the meantime, I'd be interested to hear from anyone with a Maniflow system on their car that I could have a look at!

1275 exhaust - two questions!
I want to replace the exhaust system on my 1275cc Minor, which is fitted with the CS Autoclassics/MM Centre rear suspension system. This uses radius arms to locate the axle, which limit the amount of space for the up-an-over part of the exhaust, so I need to get a system custom made or adapt a propr...

Re: Is anyone in touch with Chris Street, CS Autoclassics?
Thanks Phil - I have Chris's contact details but can't seem to reach him. My enquiry is actually more of a social matter than a query with the suspension system - I’d got to know him well over the years, and the last time we spoke I said I’d visit when I was in the area. I’m wondering if he’s since ...

Is anyone in touch with Chris Street, who used to run Minor specialists CS Autoclasscis?
I've been trying to call him on his home number in Shepton Mallet, but it appears he may have moved. I last spoke to his wife, Celia, in (I think) early 2023.

Thanks guys
I'll check out the Maniflow system, which has the 1-5/8 diameter Islip Minor recommends.
However, I’m nervous about the back box running close to the fuel tank – how much clearance is there?
