Thanks for the advice. I lack a workshop, tools and have faith in my ability to cock a doodle diddley it up.

I've been quoted £1750 for a complete respray. Is this over the top for a pickup?

Where's the best place to get a paint job in London?

I have a 1968 Austin Minor pickup.

Not so much had it restored as practicaly rebuilt.

Quoted £1500 for complete respray.

I'm going bankrupt at this rate as I paid £2600 to save it from its previous owner and another £2200 on restoration so far.

Please help.

They just don't make things like this anymore. My friends have offered me more modern cars for £2000 but they don't have the character of the old British made ones. Yep, I'm in love all right.

She's a 1968.

The guy who sold her to me said it was a reluctant sale, he was'nt kidding. Six weeks after buying her and the keys have only just arrived with todays post! Its been fun and games to say the least.

Yes it appears it was'nt a series 2 as I first thought but an Austin Minor as some people call it ( I call calling a Morris an Austin a bit like calling a spade a shovel!). I bought her for £2600, The previous owner was'nt joking. The fun and games I've had getting him to deliver her to the garage a...

AON gave me a more reasonable quote of £369.75 for full comp with £350 excess. Adrian Flux wanted a years driving experience before they'd look at me.

Slight problem with footman james, I'm still on a provisional licence and you need to have held a full licence for two years. Their standard ploicy for third party fire and thieft is £1100! for those not eligable for classic insurance.

Insurance.

Direct line won't touch my moggie pickup.

Can you guys and gals give me a list of people who do insure moggie pickups so I can start looking at quotes?

Your help is always appreciated.

It has been serviced a few months ago and the Morris Garage owner (from what he can remember given that it was a few months since he's seen it) did say it had'nt any immediate need of attention though he did warn me that I could easily spend £2600 on it again if I wanted to fully restore her. Howeve...

No the asking price of £2700, shame because I really liked it. As far as I know it is still garaged in Bermondsey.

I would have said yes at £2000 but the seller insists that he's spoken to a morris garage and thats what its worth. I still want one of those but if the "six" other interested parties turn around and walk away (as if! theres no shortage of people with more money than sense) but saying that...
