Re: Van body to pick up tub conversion
Hi, The pick up sides have a wrap over top edge and a swage line. Cutting down the van side is possible but you would need to fabricate a top edge and swage line, which is a very complicated shape with swage lines. If you look on the ESM site they sell pick up sides but do mention the top edge. Quot...

Re: minor lowlite
Hi Muzz,
Looking at an old series MM register car list the chassis number is in the chassis number range of 1950 manufacture. It would have had a USHM sidevalve engine originally, as you said the engine has been swapped out for an OHV engine.
Hope this helps

Re: Register your car / update your details!
It seems so taking into account the very low number of posts, although there are still a few Series MM owners that use the noticeboard that don't use Facebook.

Re: 1954 split screen
Just to confirm POD 581 is for sale. So if it was the car's original registration you could buy it and transfer it back. :D https://www.swiftreg.co.uk/private-number-plate/POD581 Also if a registration number is not allocated to a vehicle but still active and assigned to a DVLA retention certificate...

Re: Boot Lid not fitting
There are two types of seals, a rubber seal that fits in the lip on the body which seals around the inside of the boot lip and a later type seal which is a sponge like material which sticks to the boot lid by the lip and seals around the lip on the body. You have the rubber seal which is probably ho...

Re: 1949 MM Firewall holes
My 49 firewall while I was restoring it a while ago. It is a very original car with no extra holes. You can make out the holes you just need to look carefully. You will notice it hasn't got a heater, no holes for the heater pipes.

Between the window glass and the door frames, both side frames and top frame. Originally the seal was thick black felt like material.

Some Australian pick ups were built with bench seats, so it is possible they used the fitting, although probably not what they were intended for.

Re: Pickup rear panels and end door/drop down boot lid.
Try the LCV register.
The tail gate is remanufactured, I think ESM sell them, but be prepared for a shock re the price. The correct profile side panels aren't remanufactured so good examples are rare, also be prepared for a shock re the price.

Re: Side-valve rebuild - mounting on engine stand
Hi,
The gearbox to block/sump mounting bolts are M8x1. No backplate as such, gearbox bolts directly on the the block and the sump.
I don't know the weight, but slightly heavier than the A series.
Hope this helps...

Re: Misaligned bonnet
Looking at the second picture down of the wiper arm/spindle. The nut that is holding the wiper drive in place looks to be screwed too far down resulting in the wiper spindle being too far out, so the edge of the arm hits the bonnet and you have to bent the arm to get the wiper on to the screen. Is t...
