I would t know what to do I'm new to this it's going in for a service in two weeks before I start to use it . I found a garage near me that specialises in minors and not to expensive I'll get them to look at it , I don't mind doing easy stuff but the breaks IDE rather get a professional to look

Black fluid on wheels

I recently took off all my wheels on my 54 series 2 to repaint and painted them cream from black . I took it out on Sunday for the first time and noticed black oil or fluid dripping from the outside of the two back wheels , could it be break fluid

I've just looked at the engine it has got 950 stamped on it so it is a 948 cc engine

engine size

hi I have a 1954 series 2 in the original log book from first owned it says a 800cc engine but when I bought it back in march it came with paperwork saying it had a 948 cc engine but there is no paperwork to say it changed, how can I find identify the engine size would it say anywhere on the engine

Thanks for all your help I've just bought a 1000 speedo of eBay and just fitted it now it's perfect I just wished I asked on here before I wasted £100 on getting the other repaired

I've just found someone selling a 1000 speedo he's sending it so I can try before I buy which was good of him , he has 2 spare ones and has the same car as me he tried on his And it worked properly so I'm hopping it will on mine

So are you saying that if I put a 1000 speedo on it it will work at the moment it's a 1600 and your right it's only showing half the real speed

thanks for your help again , I spoke to the company that delt with it today he told me send the speedo back and more info and he recons he can do it so if he can that would whole lot easier than searching for another

but then im wondering if it had a later gear box surely the speedo cable would not of fitted on the gear box it took me a while to find the right one for early models because they changed size just after mine was made in think from mid 1954
