Thanks for the quick responce. I'll get some 0.9mm mild steel and start filling in those holes.
I did not know about zinc giving off a toxic gas when welded, however thinking about it it is fairly obvious. I has seen the zintec sheets and thought that they might be a good idea.

Having stripped my poor moggie down its now time to patch the many holes. Having done so on much younger vehicles i have normally used 0.9mm mild steel with a zinc coating. With the morris's unuseral structural setup will i be ok still using this guage metal or would i need to use thicker like 1.2mm...
