Front engine mount plate removal
Hi can anyone tell me the procedure for removing the front engine plate from a 1968 1000cc I've got all rad out timing cover off sprockets and chain off all engine mounts loose all bolts holding front plate on and can't budge it. It's loose off the block but locked up and won't remove. Do I have to ...

It was just a quick blast round the block Roy so don't think the salt should do any harm . Looks like the original bushes so do you think I should try the brake fluid , it certainly lubricates the master cylinder

Squeaky rear springs
Hi , I took my moggy for a quick spin yesterday and there was a really annoying squeak from the rear springs . Do you think I should renew the bushes and pins or just lubricate existing bushes

Hi , I'm changing my camshaft sprocket and chain to a duplex upgrade . They give you two countersunk Allen screws with the pack , is it only the two 7/16" bolts behind the crank sprocket that are changed ?? Pand if so any tips on how to get in with an electric drill and countersink as they are ...

Hi , the small pipe from underneath the water pump to the block , can I change it without disturbing the waterpump, it's watertight but looks its age, looks a pretty tight situation

I got the kit from ebay from a company called ultraparts , had very good reviews . Yes the two black countersunk allen screws were in the box , should I rely on just the engine oil pump or maybe a bit of grease on installation

Thanks BMC , my thoughts were on a quiteter engine but hey bought it now so might as well fit it . For loosening nuts putting it in gear with foot brake on not a good idea ????

Thanks for all the advice guys , I stripped off the track rod ends tonight and sure enough the nearside is stiffer to swivel than the offside . I guess I will be stripping cleaning and greasing as required , any more tips gratefully accepted

I was hoping that would be the answer Roy ,I was using the word pinking to give an indication of the noise only , hopefully because of the length of time laying the top end would be dry , going to do an oil and filter change and will fit a pressure gauge . The engine was quite before being laid up ....
