Re: Squeaky rear springs

It was just a quick blast round the block Roy so don't think the salt should do any harm . Looks like the original bushes so do you think I should try the brake fluid , it certainly lubricates the master cylinder

Squeaky rear springs

Hi , I took my moggy for a quick spin yesterday and there was a really annoying squeak from the rear springs . Do you think I should renew the bushes and pins or just lubricate existing bushes

Re: Spanner size

I got the kit from ebay from a company called ultraparts , had very good reviews . Yes the two black countersunk allen screws were in the box , should I rely on just the engine oil pump or maybe a bit of grease on installation :-?

Thanks for all the advice guys , I stripped off the track rod ends tonight and sure enough the nearside is stiffer to swivel than the offside . I guess I will be stripping cleaning and greasing as required , any more tips gratefully accepted :D

On my 68 minor 1000 I have a problem with my steering . On full right or left lock the wheel does not return to centre when coming out of the turn . I have greased the kingpins and grease seems to be easily passing through the bushes but I still have to help the steering back to centre straight , ma...

Re: Engine rattle

I was hoping that would be the answer Roy ,I was using the word pinking to give an indication of the noise only , hopefully because of the length of time laying the top end would be dry , going to do an oil and filter change and will fit a pressure gauge . The engine was quite before being laid up ....
