Re: 1951 Lowlight Barn Find Project
Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to pursue this restoration (no garage!). It's simply not practical to do on my drive. I've posted an advert here, and already have had lots of enquiries about what I'm after but I have no idea. Can anyone advise what this might be worth please? http://www.mmoc....

Re: 1951 Lowlight Barn Find Project
no, I wasn't sure - was just the farmer telling me it was a 1000cc... Will have to lookup the engine number when I find it... are the 803cc engines any good? pretty small and I imagine parts won't be too easy to come by... :( Maybe I just put them all on Ebay and try to get a decent 1098 for it...?

1951 Lowlight Barn Find Project
Hi Everyone, The start of my restoration thread... As some of you may have read in other threads, my dad found out about a 1951 Morris Minor Lowlight in a friend's barn. Apparently it had been there for over 30 years after it failed an MOT and the owner couldn't afford to do the work at the time. I ...

Re: 1951 MM Low light barn find - restore or not?
It's on the way as I type... See photos. Rad and gearbox both with the old side valve engine thankfully... My dad reckons a lot of it is pretty solid and the farmer pumped the tyres up on monday and they're still holding air today (after over 30 years in that barn!) - that's some good inner tubes! f...

Re: 1951 MM Low light barn find - restore or not?
no idea yet I'm afraid. The lady tells me that she has the old engine and it will go with the car. hopefully gearbox is still attached (I can't see why they would have separated them). Are the other bits a problem to get hold of generally then? It's possible the original radiator is still in there t...

Re: Side-valve rebuild
Hi,
I know it's an old post, but how did everyone get on with their various rebuilds? I'm acquiring a side valve engine soon and will be after similar info...
cheers,
Toby

Re: Barn find (1951 Low light) - do I restore?
Thanks for everyone's input! I've decided to go for it. The main factors that were putting me off were transport (£200 to my house) and storage (currently without a garage). It still seems pretty cheap for £250 and I like a challenge... I'll tuck it up well under covers initially. looks like I'll be...

Re: Barn find (1951 Low light) - do I restore?
Thanks. yeah, I'm very tempted. It's been in there for 30 years apparently...
She said she'd like to see it going again - may be some wait for that! I do like a challenge though.
trying to attach a couple more photos but not letting me for some reason...

Barn find (1951 Low light) - do I restore?
My dad has found a 1951 low light in a barn near his house and the lady says I can have it if I donate £50 to her church... I am undecided whether to take it... not sure on condition as I have only seen photos. My dad reckons it's fairly solid but has holes in the bottom of each front wing and floor...
