Re: fitting new axle to prop shaft
Thanks for your replies and insight. I never really noticed the holes being somewhat differently spaced, but I will measure and just fit it back up and see how I go. Cheers and happy motoring

fitting new axle to prop shaft
Hello, I have had to remove my axle, as the diff was leaking, and the spring is rather loose in its shackle bushes, and welding required. Thankfully I had another axle, so I reconditioned this one and will be doing a swap. But the question I now have is how do I know to fit it correctly onto the ori...

Re: 10MA engine rebore sizes
well, absolutely, that's exactly why the mechanic suggested +40" might be needed to remove all damage. Don't worry, I'm not after power, but rather a good repair, while I can. For power I have other cars

Re: 10MA engine rebore sizes
Thanks for the reply, but it is quite a deep score, and there is also a small ~2mm chip out of the bore. I'd rather get the engine in to top condition again while its out...

Re: Clutch problems!
As to putting on a spring, I find that tying a bit of string to the front hook of the spring works well, all you need to do is pull it and guide the hook into the hole on the backplate. No swearing required either! But, I think you probably have got a wrong spring in any case. There is not way it wo...

10MA engine rebore sizes
Dear all, but in particular folk with the technical know-how, I am in need of a set of oversize pistons for my 10MA engine. ESM has +020", +030", +040" and +060" so that should not be a problem. However, before buying the right set a set, I need to know first what oversize I can ...

Re: crankshaft journal sizes-do I need a regrind
Dear All that have replied so far. Thanks for your suggestions and opinion. In an ideal place I would get a reground crank, so my question was really how far you can go with the wear (in Main bearings ~0.08mm max), since the regrind sizes take it down ~0.25mm. But you are right, 10k goes a long way ...

Re: crankshaft journal sizes-do I need a regrind
Thanks for your reply, yes all other parts will be checked also of course, but knowing what is needed on the crank is the essential first step. Next is assess whether I need a rebore or not! And yes, mine is the only one running at the moment. There is a 1963 green saloon sitting in a yard, awaiting...

crankshaft journal sizes-do I need a regrind
Hello, This is a bit of a technical query for someone with the mechanical know-how on engines. I am rebuilding an 10MA engine at the moment, as it badly needed an overhaul. I have stripped it right down, and am debating whether I should get a reconditioned crankshaft or whether I can make this one l...
