Yes, I have had the panel off and the indoor lever is still all attached to the exterior handle by the long rod you mention. Might there be something amiss in the lever mechanism?

Hello, I have just bought a '65 M Minor van, which I intend to use for my gardening business, but which has a few 'issues' that need sorting. One of these is the passenger door lock i.e. even if I move the interior opening handle fwd/towards the dash (which should lock the car?) it is still possible...
