Re: Plug colour. Half tan, half cream
Happy days, thank you guys. I'm doing a fair few motorway miles so it's nice to have some reassurance.

Plug colour. Half tan, half cream
Whipped my plugs out to inspect after doing a full service. Noticed that they are a half tan and half cream colour as can be seen in the photos. My question is; Is this normal? Engine is a standard 948 with 1/2 carb, elec ign and large lcb manifold. I know these are likely overkill but I have 1275 a...

Re: Fitting a split screen seal on later round screen car?
Cheers guys, I was guessing the one piece would be larger. Is the cross section of the two seals similar though? I cant seem to find any pictures of either seals on the internet but in pictures of spilt screens without windows there does seem to be a similarity in how the windscreen fits.

Fitting a split screen seal on later round screen car?
I was wondering if anyone has ever fitted a split screen windscreen seal or seal of a similar style to a later round screen car? The round screen seal sits on-top of the body outside of the windscreen "hole" and in my opinion makes the windscreen look larger and newer, the split screen sea...

Quick front dampener question
I have disassembled my front suspension and have discovered that there is axial play in the dampeners, as in if you hold the arm you can push it in and out a bit. I remember that when I braked it used to clonk firmly so I assume it was this slack being taken up. Basically is this normal?

Re: Lowering the front and Raising the bump stops??
Big thanks IslipMinor, that has given me the confidence not to raise the stops. I cleaned all of the suspension components up tonight so shall be assembling both sides tomorrow to check everything is swinging around aOK! I have replaced both inner wings so I will also check that they are of the same...

Re: Lowering the front and Raising the bump stops??
The marina \ ital torsion bars need to come from the van \ pickup if i recall correctly. It was a popular mod when they were readily available in scrap yards, but as they are no longer readily available i do not beileve any one does the adpator plates any more that extend the back of the marina tor...

Re: Lowering the front and Raising the bump stops??
There is very little room to take anything worthwhile off the front bump stops - and still leave them 'effective' in any way. You could fit AEON progressive stops - these are available from some of the Mini suppliers and could be adapted for use on the Minor front end. At the rear - there is more r...

Re: How can uprated torsion bars be identified?
This is so I can safely lower the front of my car. £300 ish for the Birmingham centres uprated bars is a lot so I was hoping to score some second hand ones for less. Its just that, say I do find some, until they have been fitted I wont know if they are actually uprated bars :-? . I suppose they must...

Lowering the front and Raising the bump stops??
Ive read through many threads about lowering the front of moggys and fully understand the consequences of just dropping it on the splines/plate without further modifications, this is partially through my own experience of battering the inner wings and more through rot than damage have just finished ...

How can uprated torsion bars be identified?
Hey there,
I am on the look out for some second hand uprated torsion bars and was wondering if there is any way of identifying them over standard bars and if there is a way of determining there stiffness - i.e 50,75,100%
Thankyou for looking, Andy
