Paint

Next job is to determine paint change points, ie BMC & BLMC, incl. 1971 range. If I could trouble those with post '68 LCVs & AddPk Travellers to let me know original colour of their vehicle, it's cab nos (don't bother with the last 2 digits) & the date on either the wiper motor or contro...

Re: No engine number

simmitc wrote: Wed Mar 16, 2022 12:00 pm Exactly that. I would preface it with "10MA-" as a nod towards the original 1098 engine numbering, but your initial and year/month would be perfect.
Late std. '69 car would prob. be a 5 digit 10V/189E/H unit, these have plastic breather pipes.

BMHT can tell you exact number.

Re: Identifying stamped plate ?

Bit of a puzzle tbh, logical conclusion is/was the bodyshell sat around for a month or so...even the 10MEH is very low numbered for 69, usually in the 7k's....

All a guess tbh..

Re: Identifying stamped plate ?

Unless first registered in December, body nos. indicates Spring '69...check original engine nos. prefix please..

Unless it's a former Police Panda?

Does the VIN start with 1247xxx(ish)

Re: Adderley Park LCVs

Bit like a crossword without any clues!🤣

Essential to check facts BEFORE publishing anything, classic example is 501-49767, "All 803cc engined Minor LCVs".....however, this simply isn't correct, sadly ppl seem content with hackneyed info.

Re: Adderley Park LCVs

I'll address the delay in the completion of the book, Firstly, I need chassis, cab & engine nos to arrive at accurate listings by month/year. Without these, my hands are tied, and therefore cannot progress. I do NOT need registration numbers, nor the last 2 digits of a chassis nos, obviously, wi...

Re: Adderley Park LCVs

[/quote Scary thing was the proof copy of our book used the data from the Glass' Guide, where the total production figure is given as 326627, rather than 327227. If you have a proof copy from the publisher they will be keen to publish as soon as possible following amends to the proof as all printin...

Re: Adderley Park LCVs

You never will Les. That is the whole problem. New information will always come along in dribs and drabs and usually just when you least expect it. Probably immediately after you have published of course. The newly published book will bring people out of the woodwork who'll say: "They haven't ...

Re: Adderley Park LCVs

Yet ANOTHER revelation in the Minor LCV world has been uncovered - whether it was ever documented in AddPk build records I don't know - but it proves that all our years of body/engine number collecting have NOT been fruitless!
