Re: 2 MOT or not 2 MOT
I reckon the buffers were always fitted. I have 2 Minors more than 10years apart and they both have them  How far do the two buffers push the battery forward? Basil, being a SII, has the Big Rubber Bung fitted in the hole behind the battery and that gives ample spacing from the metalwork. How...

Re: Help what fuel to run?
I've used both e5 and e10 and as we have hardened seats now no additive, seems to work fine. Whatever you are using I would change all the rubber fuel lines for a good quality ethanol resistant stuff, I've used Cohline, and if it hasn't been changed lately re-build the fuel pump with a new diaphrag...

Re: Help what fuel to run?
We use E5, preferably Esso, as in most of the country it has 0% ethanol. In the south west and, I think, a part of the north east there is ethanol in it. The engine definitely runs better, although I'm making no claims about improved mpg. Further to my previous post I had an e-mail from Esso today ...

Re: Drive it day 2023
National Drive It Day was created by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs in 2005 and has run every year since other than during Covid, usually on a Sunday towards the end of April. We did our first one in 2011 which was the first after we got our Traveller.

I'm sure we used an old carpet sample which was vaguely the right colour at one stage.

Re: Indents in carpet
I used to put a piece of wood underneath to raise the back of the seat up which sorted the indent problem as well. Not very elegant though,

Re: Government Alerts
Why wouldn't you want the warning? If there is warning, for example, of someone with a gun in your area shooting people, why wouldn't you want a heads up?

Re: Government Alerts
Firstly the alerts will only be broadcast in those areas affected by selecting which masts transmit the alert. Secondly the transmission cannot identify individual mobiles. It isn't sending a message to each mobile. It is a general broadcast that phones can pick up. There is no ability to take contr...

Given the nature of the events about which we will be alerted I think that, on balance, I would rather know than not.

Re: Naming your Minor
Our Traveller is Alfred. It already had that name when we bought it, named after the grandfather of the lad who completely restored it. Since Jayne wanted a boy we kept the name which he was quite pleased about.

Does anyone know if he has a parts website? Steve doesn't have an online presence or a parts website. He is indeed a one man business who relies on referrals and a loyal customer base who go back year after year, as we do. Here are his contact details which I seem to have posted a few times recentl...

Sorry to hear your news. I wonder how many miles you can put on the Traveller in 12 months?
