i'm probably being really thick, but i can't work out how to fit the weather strip
the current ones are rotten and, having ordered a new set, i'm not sure how to make the swap.
i assume the window needs to come out, and then some jiggery-pokery without the glass.
any suggestions?
cheers.

Re: mystery running problem! 3 AA calls in 3 days!
have you tried something as simple as removing the float chamber and checking for dirt in the float chamber. if the car has been off the road for a number of years, it may be that some 'sludge' from the bottom of the fuel tank has made its way through to the float chamber. remove the brass float, cl...

Re: problems refueling
i have a slightly different problem
-
when i re-fill to a full tank, the cut-off never seems to work on the hose - it simply comes out the top before it cuts off.
- i haven't topped it fully very often since i bought the car, but each time, the same problem occurs.
is there a knack?

Re: Rust repair/filing/priming/painting - how best?
i think the reason rust killer products don't seem to work is chemically simple
the active ingredient in these product is phosphoric acid: H3PO4
the rust to be converted: iron oxide: FEO
H3PO4 + FeO --> FePO4 (iron phosphate) + H2O (water)
- i wonder what is going to happen?!!

Re: Coloured line/stripe down sides of car?
have you thought of using letra-tape? it looks just as good as paint, is waterproof, and , crucially, no slips! mine came with it, and it seems to have stood the test of time (despite spending it's life with it's previous owner uncovered by the sea!) just make sure the surface it is applied to is cl...

NB.
The £4-00 entry fee only applies to pre-entries;
a higher fee applies on the day (see the website, I'm not sure of the exact figure)

Moggie sits odd!
Hi again, Having had the car sitting on the drive now for a couple of days, i have noticed that the car is sitting rather oddly; the passenger side is a couple of inches lower than the driver's - unlaiden! The last MOT noted 'slight play in the front trunyan ball joint', and wether this is anything ...

Re: Oil for 1970 moggie
also, forgot to ask, is it detramental to the engine to mix synthetic and mineral oils (assuming i top up with mineral oils)?
- one would assume mineral oil is present, but it's not garunteed!

Re: Oil for 1970 moggie
i bought the car yesterday, and it survived the drive from southend to aylesbury perfectly well. The previous owner, however, does not know what oil is in it at present (synthetic, semi-synthetic, mineral) Is there a way in which i can deduce what is in it, shot of an oil change? the car does not, a...

- always a great day - grows each year -
if a few of us can enter together, we may be able to set up a club stand - will need to look into it, otherwise, it's a great day, and well worth the £4-00 entry fee!

Many thanks once again, and all i need now is the car on sunday! Matt[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.ph...

What oil for a 1970 Moggie 2 Door?
Hi, I have just bought a morris 1000 2 door saloon, to be collected next week, and was wondering what oil is required. I will obviously ask the seller what is in it at the moment, but if this is not the recommended i will replace at the 1st oil change. If anyone has any suggestions, i would be grate...
