Re: Poor performing 1275

With all these experts available on this site and these times of mechanical uncertainty wouldn't it make sense to form some sort of coalition garage, ideally in West Yorkshire so i have somewhere to take my car ?

Re: Poor performing 1275

Thanks for the input. With regards to the engines performance it seemed to have a reasonable amount of grunt when I ran it for a month or so with the 4 speed box prior to fitting the sierra 5 speed box, only then did it seem to perform worse. I don't think it was lacking in power and it seemed to ha...

Re: Poor performing 1275

Thanks for input. I did have my foot down the other day as i was on about my 100th trip back to the garage so probably not in a good mood.
It's a pickup so maybe the canvas tilt is holding me back. Thanks for tyre info.

Poor performing 1275

Having read recent comments about performance and top end speed i appear to be in the same dilema and am faced with a moggy mechanic confusing me with his reasons. Basically i've had a 1275 engine fitted followed by a 5 speed sierra gearbox which as resulted in a loss of performance/power. It has go...

Re: Canvas back pick up

Hi, Believe it or not i rubbed 90% of the car down by hand. Hard to reach places where i couldn't reach had to be sand blasted. I was told blasting could put tiny imperfections in the metalwork, but for the amount of time it took and the fact the car had to have about 4 to 5 full days of filler prim...

Valuation

Just trying to submit a valuation form to my insurers after pickup restoration. Basically, if the insurers want an independent valuation, does anyone know of any approved Morris Minor valuers ? (West Yorkshire area if poss) Cheers.

Re: Canvas back pick up

Here are some more pictures of the restoration. As a bit of background info, we first went to look at it in 2004 hidden away in Dumfries. Unfortunately, the car was in a really poor state and the asking price was just too much for the work needed. We sadly walked away from it, but following 18 month...

Re: Canvas back pick up

It's black, with a red interior. It's one of the hardest decisions ever choosing your colour, such an expensive mistake if you don't like .Will post more pics later this evening after mi tea !

Canvas back pick up

After nearly 3 years without it, finally collected our pick-up today. Had it's maiden voyage this morning. Headlights, stereo and fuel gauge packed in, but got from A to B without anything blowing up or dropping off ! - but hey ho everyone has teething problems ( but not usually for 3 years !) Consi...
