Thanks for the reply, the inner looks fine so going for a new cable sounds the quickest solution.

Every so often (and becoming more regular) the inner speedo cable keeps coming out of the main unit (the outer cable is still tight). Does the inner cable come in different lengths (if not does anyone know the correct length) or have any ideas why this would happen?
