Changing Polarity to Negative Earth

i have read the technical tips to do this. BUT i have noticed that their are positive and negitive fuel pumps etc would this effect the car in any other way?

If it's a standard pump then it won't care which way round it is. The only problem is if it's had an electronic version fitted which is polarity sensitive.

also if you have electic washers, they will suck instead of blow! Just change round the connectors.

The pickup's running (when it does run, which isn't often, and won't be for much longer as the cab's coming off again...) with neg earth, on an old Minor pump with no problems.

I think maybe solid state ones are polarity sensitive, but the points type OEM ones seem to work just fine :)

You should clean the fuel pump contacts - they will now wear in the opposite direction. ie One will pit and the other collect a wee mountain, opposite to what was happening before. Better to start off with clean contacts - it should be an annual preventive maintenance task anyway!
