Kevin, I was at that meeting, as was Bill (Judge) and Andrew Stone, and it was agreed to remain at 5,000 miles (after much discussion). Also, there seemed to be a little confusion due to the title of the class: 'Working Minors'. Some folks thought that this was only for those Minors who 'work for a living' and are insured for business use, so I suggested changing the title (or introducing another class) to: 'Everyday Minors' or something similar to keep in with the 'spirit' of the class.

As far as I was concerned, this was then to be taken to committee for approval.

I think we need committee approval before we change anything, but I would appreciate someone letting me know when (and if) it's changed officially and then I can make any website edits accordingly. :D

This 'perennial problem' (raised by me during the Liason Meeting) as Sandy has so eloquently put it, is indeed just that from the comments I have heard, and it is something that I have raised previously on a number of occasions. Unfortunatey it appears that the suggested solutions were never implemented and I believe that this is why complaints are still being received. The number of complaints may be small, but even if only one complaint results in the MMOC losing a member and voicing his feelings to others, then it is something that must be addressed. In fact to deal with the problem, in my opinion, is not rocket science, and could be easily accomplished.

I use my Traveller as an "everyday car" which takes its turn with my other roadworthy car for driving to work duties, and other motoring etc, and the Trav never does more than 5000 miles (due to insurance limit). Its far from concourr, but would not be eligible for the "everyday car" class. :(

Its thins kind of thing that puts people off concours and probably why the Kent branches don;t have any concours.

The matter of the mileage limit is something that you would need to discuss with Sandy Hamilton. However, as far a Concours is concerned, the use of your traveller as an everyday car does not exclude it. It may not achieve Masters or Grand Masters status, although two masters class cars went on MOT to France last year, but it certainly would not be the first 'everyday' car that we have had in Concours. This kind of misunderstanding is something I am striving to put an end to, and I am always happy to answer any questions that anyone may have.
