Okay so i have two questions. I have my morris hot wired right now, but the brake lights dont work. Is this beasue some of the electrical is bypassed by hot wiring? And second, how does the brake light itself operate; is there some sort of switch in the braking system which turns the brake lighs on and off?
Thanks,
Downsey

as bigginger says just below / to the left of the radiator. unless if left hand drive you may need to pull the air tube for the heater off to see it. get a volt meter and check that 1 of the wires has 12 volts. if not could be the fuse. does the indicators wipers heater work with this hot wire job? if you need to replace the sensor, take sare removing it. the pipe union can twist and damage you brake pipes. we need to hold the union when undoing the sensor. it is a tapered thread.

My brake lights only work when you have the ignition turned on.
If you've simply run a wire from the battery to the coil then you probably won't be able to use anything that requires the key to be turned. Headlights will still work as these do not require the ignition to be on.
