Barn find Series 2 Cheesegrater grill type Traveller

Post by geoffwilliams »

Real barn find. Time warp of a car. 1954 Series 2 Cheesegrater grill type Traveller. Grey with red interior. It had already been off road dry stored for approximately 20 years when I bought it in 1990's and I have dry stored it since buying. So, off the road and hasn't run for in the region of 50 years! I had the intention of restoring but never got around to it. Number plates are on it but it is not registered with DVLA and I do not have the original log book either. So will need to be registered when restored but should be able to keep its original registration. Its complete, wood is basically good as is the interior. Difficult to get at to see but I would say it needs both front chassis legs replacing but crossmember and floor from what I can see seem ok. Having said that, if I was doing it I would do the complete floor and then it will last for another 70 years! Can't get to open bonnet to see what engine is in it or if its seized. Tyres are flat and the brakes bound to be stuck on, so will need those freeing off and inflated tyres to be able to move it. Gauging interest at this stage but looking at offers in the region of £3000. Collection from near Telford, Shropshire . Contact by email to angelinamoon@hotmail.co.uk
