Wheel box wiper rack

Post by Cookie807 »

Hi all, well I’m struggling (again),
OMG can someone please tell me the length of the wiper rack tube from the wiper motor to the first wheel box, I’ve been struggling now for two days, and almost tied the damn thing in a knot, the closest I’ve had it is fitted on the first wheel box but out of the bulkhead there’s still a 12 inches to loose, I’ve had it in and out bending it slightly every time but I’m not even close.
Someone must have been in this situation before me, I’ve also looked in the books and on the internet diagrams and they show a nice steady curve on the tube, mine seems 18 inch to long, or I’m I just fitting in wrong.
Any help would be appreciated greatly
Thanks Rob.

What model and age of Minor do you have? There are differences. Both Minor 1000 types are a bit of a fiddle to replace but perfectly possible
Are you trying to refit the one that came out of the car or fit a replacement? Have you got the correct type?

Hi,
firstly many thanks for your reply,
I’m restoring a 1972 van, I have tried to fit an old one first as I’m building a concourse vehicle so I tried to get the pattern first before bending the new one but there both the same length.
I was sure there was different sizes but many people told me there all the same, well at this point I think your right, there has to be different sizes.
Many thanks Rob
