1953 Series II Split Screen Saloon (2 door)

Post by Nick (SeriesII) »

I am selling my 1953 Morris Minor Series II saloon (2 door) in Black, as I need the space at home in preparation for a house move.

By way of some history, I have owned the car since 2013. It was originally re-built back in 1993 and structurally, it looked excellent, which is why I bought it. This was helped in no small part by the fact that it had been dry stored for many years, although the paint by then was dull and crazed, so it was always my intention to sort this out. The car has been dry stored ever since.

At every step of the way up to now, I have set about making it as it was when it originally left the factory. Up to now, the following has been done:

· Bodyshell taken back to bare metal and resprayed in gloss black
· 803cc engine completely re-built with hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel and re-fitted
· Smooth case gearbox completely re-built by Classic Gearboxes and re-fitted
· Suspension parts powder coated before assembly, with new springs, exhaust and tyres fitted
· Original radiator restored and sealed
· New wiring loom fitted
· Speedometer re-built by Speedy Cables, showing 35,358 miles
· Original seats frames sandblasted and powder coated before being re-built in Grenadine (maroon) leather by Newton Commercials, complimented by matching door cards and trim, all of which are still in the bubble wrap and packaging as they were collected from the factory.
· Split windscreen and rear screen recently re-fitted by Millennium Minors (Manchester).
· Original three-piece headlining recently re-upholstered by a local trim specialist and re-fitted by Millennium Minors (Manchester).

All interior trim and painted parts (i.e., dash panels, parcel tray, steering column, etc.), lights, chrome, etc., are present and included for assembly onto the car.

This car needs none of the major structural or body work typically required on a Minor and once assembled, it will be a fabulous vehicle and will serve the next owner for many years to come. This car will suit an enthusiast with the time to complete, enjoy and show it. Any inspections welcome by arrangement (the car is located in Lancashire).

Price = £ 6,800
