Black Speedometer Sender Ohms Range

Post by Peted7202 »

Can anyone please confirm the Ohms range for the Black Speedo sender unit? I've asked at a supplier and they say 1.6 to 80. I'm sure I've read somewhere it's something like 17 to 220.

I remembered this coming up before, sort of...

The early one is the range you've been quoted.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that the later style Smiths Sender is 240 Ohms empty and 20 Ohms full, in the opposite sense to the early ones.

Holden for example offer a generic Smiths sender: https://www.holden.co.uk/p/sender_for_s ... e_mounting

Resistance 237/273 at empty, 16/22 at full.
