Hardened valves
Hi everyone, I'm thinking of putting hardened valves in doris. How easy is it,do you have to change all 8.and do you have to lap them in.

Re: Hardened valves
It’s not the valves it’s the valve seats. The exhaust valve seats specifically.

Hi Stephen. Assuming you mean hardened valve seats. Once the head is returned to you It would be best to fit new valves. When fitting the Valves they have to be lapped in to produce an air tight seal. It is not difficult to do.

Re: Hardened valves
Ask the machine shop to cut the hardened seats to suit. You usually supply an exhaust valve to them if they aren’t supplying new valves so they can determine the angle. It costs next to nothing.
