Fitting an extra high level brake light.

Hi I have tried to find something on the website about this but have failed. I wish to fit a brake light on the rear parcel shelve in my saloon Morris. Can anyone suggest what type is best and the wiring diagram to connect to existing brake lights. Many thanks. Sorry if this has been mentioned before. Mike.

two of which only need a couple of thin wires to the brake light wiring connectors...

You can use almost any commercially available high level LED brake light. Some stick to the glass, but might fall off and require new pads, or you can use or make a bracket to screw to the shelf. Wiring really simple: one wire to earth, one wire to the green/purple wire in the boot, either side. You might even find a bullet connector ready to use on the right hand side. The only question is whether your car is +ve or -ve earth so that you know which wire to earth and which to take to the brake light circuit.
I like Sleeper's strip across the top - strips are less likely to fall off than heavier light units.

You also asked about a Wiring Diagram....

I read your car is a 57, so assuming (rash thing to do, I know) that it's not been altered significantly, I think you'll find a wiring connector in the boot where the Green/Purple splits to go to either side.
Just tap into that point, it'll depend what sort of connector is there. You'll hopefully find it is a 'Double' that takes 4 bullet connectors at a common connection, so you can plug a bullet straight in.

Just earth the other end to the body shell somewhere.
If you car is Pos Earth still don't forget the LED strip will almost certainly be polarity sensitive; manufacturers don't expect anything other than Neg Earth.
