My 2 door Series V Deluxe has always had a fibreboard parcel shelf. The only “deluxe” thing being swing-out ashtrays underneath the parcel shelfmyoldjalopy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 10:06 am Hmmmm.....as I mentioned at the time, I wonder if the 2-door models had metal and the 4-doors the cardboard then? Or is it a difference between the standard and de-luxe models? I wonder, do any of the suppliers provide metal parcel shelves?

Re: Metal parcel shelf
No they don't seem to; I gave up looking on the Moss site, although their pdf catalogue says the same millboard Parcel Tray was fitted to MM/SII, with no padding on the front metal bar; ESM offer a 'cardboard' version for '48-56....so same item from both presumably.myoldjalopy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 11, 2023 10:06 am Hmmmm.....as I mentioned at the time, I wonder if the 2-door models had metal and the 4-doors the cardboard then? One day I'll get a copy of the original SII Parts Book.

Further to my earlier ramblings, the shelf emerges from the shed into the daylight ready to go back in. Still awaiting the swing out ash trays.

Re: Metal parcel shelf
Hi Chums,
Well after the parcel shelf went into the car without a hitch the long awaited ash trays arrived and guess what!
Yep.......Smashed to pieces and useless!
I have reluctantly bought another two sets from the same place hoping to build one perfect set from three and asked the seller to take a bit more care over the packaging!

At least you’ll have a surplus of ashtray brackets!

Lol, that's true but if I get any more broken bits the seller will be receiving a box from me containing something black with fangs and tentacles!

Re: Metal parcel shelf
Received the other two sets of ash trays and sorted out the best components from all three sets so I ended up with one perfect set which I fitted in the car plus a good second set.
The smashed up rubbish set went back to the sender and I received a refund.
I must admit they look very nice when fitted!
