Reece Fish Carburettor Tuning

Post by Monty-4 »

I have several photocopies of manuals and advertisements, and a CAD drawing for an adapter plate. 8)

The question is - does anyone know of a rolling road, preferably Glos/Wilts/Worcs/Warks/Soms/Oxs, that would know what they're doing with it?

My understanding is that the Reece Fish carb has the same stud centres as the SU carb so may not require an adapter plate.

Clive Tricky gives a comprehensive guide to setting up and tuning the Reece Fish carb in his book 'Tuning the Classic Mini' and starting at page 75. Published by MRP speedsport ISBN: 0-947981-61-1

There are lots of details on the web also.

You could save yourself the time, money and hassle by doing at least the initial fitting and tuning yourself.

Aye Phil, I've got a nice period alloy manifold ("Superflow") for a single larger carb as it's the 1.5" Fish and the pattern doesn't match.

Initial setup I can likely manage, but I'll probably be at least a little off!

Not the Fish carb intended for the Minor but a similar downdraft model for another car.

I understand most of what is going on here except this pipe that goes from the inlet to the 'swept' side of the float chamber, any clues?
